This artist’s book is the result of a reflection on the non-representation of objects during an exhibition. This « catalogue » illustrates the stages antecedents and preceding a work of art. Here we can contemplate portraits of transport crates made by the artist himself, named as fermentation boxes. This 54 photographic series by Julian Jaffé is complemented by a documentation of around 32 collages and photography by Paul F. Millet, revealing a few clues about the contents of these wooden quadrilaterals.
